Descripción

Description

For the Orkuveitan Headquaters in Reykjavik German architects MaderStublicWiermann have developed a dynamic light façade.

The project is a continuation of the twist and turns project in Vienna, in which MaderStublicWiermann introduced their concept of architecture in correspondence to dynamic image. In both cases, monochrome LEDs are embedded into the buildings’ exteriors.

In Reykjavik, abstract and amorphous light structures modify the building on a time axis. The edge and the rounding are the subjects of the installation in correspondence to the building’s shape. Spatial constellations emerge over time and interact with the volume. The abstract forms are created by bending up to autonomous perspectives, which have the potential to completely change the building’s appearance. The launch is planned for spring 2008.
