La semana próxima estaré en Durango para llevar a cabo la conferencia Urban Screens . Entre el arte y la función y la instalación de arte Light CROAC.CROAC como parte de los eventos del Instituto Municipal del Arte y la Cultura IMAC.

ACCESS lets you track anonymous individuals in public places, by pursuing them with a robotic spotlight and acoustic beam system.
ACCESS presents control tools generated by surveillance technology combined with the advertising and Hollywood industries, and the internet. It refers to political propoganda and media manipluation.
Beware. Some individuals may not like being monitored.

International urban screens association
Urban Screens are dynamic digital displays and visual interfaces located within urban public spaces. They include LED screens and signs, plasma screens, information terminals and projection surfaces as well as intelligent architectural surfaces and media facades.
Urban Screens transform the capacity of public spaces to serve as a platform for user-generated civic and cultural expression, community building, multiculturalism and public engagment in issues related to social, cultural and environmental sustainability.

Communicating Through Architecture: Media Facades and the Digital Infrastructure

In Times Square, 1996, the first media facade is erected. At 1,000 square feet the screen now pales in comparison to the likes of those found in Seoul, Tokyo and even newer construction in Times Square. This technology, once limited to the United States, can now be found in nearly every metropolitan area worldwide and has become a symbol of a country’s power or a company’s position in their industry. While media facades are the billboards of the digital infrastructure, the layer extends so much deeper reaching into nearly every aspect of our daily lives. The proliferation of media facades, similar to that of cellular phones, PDAs, Bluetooth technology, laptop computers, and GPS technology is often dismissed or simply goes unnoticed, yet these devices allow instantaneous connection and relay of information with other people almost anywhere in the world. This is a feat found only in science fiction just 25 years ago. As the world becomes more and more connected, questions about sense of place and “here” are raised. Issues of this nature add additional challenges to the architect’s burden of creating powerful, place-specific architecture.

A patented system that integrates LED technology to create true three-dimensional imagery, the 3D Display Cube has wide spread uses with retail and public display, signage applications, home display, and advertising.
The 3D Display Cube comes has an easy to use graphic system that allows the import of Photoshop files as well as video files to be displayed within the spatial region. This graphics system allows any designer or animator to create shapes and 3D video for the Cube without the need for programming. The 3D Cube also allows for external video cameras and audio to be plugged in to display real-time data in true 3D.

The fourth and final of our movies commissioned by Bombay Sapphire during the London Design Festival features designer Evan Grant of Seeper describing Voronoi and Kinetic Touch, two installations currently on show at Tent Digital.
The installations were commissioned by Dezeen for Tent Digital, which is open until Sunday 27 September at the Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane.
