Turning the Place Over – Richard Wilson, 2007
The most daring piece of public art ever commissioned in the UK, Turning the Place Over is artist Richard Wilson’s most radical intervention into architecture to date, turning a building in Liverpool’s city centre literally inside out. One of Wilson’s very rare temporary works, Turning the Place Over colonises Cross Keys House, Moorfields. It runs in daylight hours, triggered by a light sensor.
Turning the Place Over consists of an 8 metres diameter ovoid cut from the façade of a building in Liverpool city centre and made to oscillate in three dimensions. The revolving façade rests on a specially designed giant rotator, usually used in the shipping and nuclear industries, and acts as a huge opening and closing ‘window’, offering recurrent glimpses of the interior during its constant cycle during daylight hours.

Photographer Jason Hawkes, a frequent contributor to the Big Picture blog, returns today, sharing with us some of his latest images of American cities seen from above at night – New York City and Las Vegas, both cities that undergo significant transformations after the sun goes down. From Hawkes: “The images of New York were shot on Nikons latest camera, the D3S, using three gyro stabilizing mounts and flown using twin star helicopters. (Eurocopter AS355). We flew from heights of just over 500 ft up to 2,500-ft with no doors on, it was very very cold. The images of Las Vegas were shot for a separate project, using a range of helicopters from a Robinson 44 to Eurocopter AS355″. Be sure to see Hawkes’ earlier entries here and check out his newly-released book “London at Night“. A book of his New York at night photos is due for publication in the Autumn. Erwin Redl por encima de todo define su trabajo como un resultado artístico después de una experiencia digital. Artista minimalista, en el que el orden y la precisión son indiscutiblemente indispensables en sus obras realizadas con fuentes de luz LED. Juega con el color, con el que así también crea diferentes percepciones del espacio.

This is how that in summer made the tests of the projection of video. Especially it did not come out, projector was weak and video did not coincide. Lenses on the camera and the projector were different.
