CORNER 350.60654 (christian saucedo) represent a visual work resolved in an architectural space through the practice and experimentation of the contemporary visual arts. this intervention fill any elements around one space (roofs, walls, floors, etc.) with deformed drawings to complet an image that depends to the motion of the observer at space.

This beautiful installation was made between J. Spaceman of the beloved “space rock” band Spiritualized and acclaimed UK-based filmmaker Jonathan Glazer. The impressively complex sound and light installation brings together many creative talents including Glazer, Spaceman, One of Us, Juliette Larthe and Undisclosable, to deconstruct and spatially “remix” Spiritualized’s most famous track, “Ladies and Gentlemen, We Are Floating In Space,” translating the musical experience into a uniquely physical one.

Las mandalas (Ivan Puig) son dibujos de figuras concéntricas y patrones repetidos alrededor de un centro, que han servido para enfocar y sosegar la mente en muchas culturas. Por su parte, la vida moderna ofrece un sin fin de imágenes en movimiento, comodidades, ciencias, tecnologías, tecnócratas, demócratas, anarcosíndico-fetichofatalistas… un catálogo amplio de opciones para el consumo. En la combinación de estos antagónicos se gestan las Mandalas para la vida moderna.

Hadrian Predock + John Frane’s project for the 2010 GLOW festival in Santa Monica titled “Luminous Passage” links the City to the Ocean as a porous and luminous land bridge. Connecting the existing Bay Street boardwalk to the ocean’s edge, the passage makes visible the connection across the sand to the edge of the Pacific. This is a physical tensile structure that supports light and connects the urban landscape of Santa Monica to the edge of the water, but also forms a conceptual leap that transitions from the “logics” that define the city to the those of the ocean. Taking the vertical nature of the city and merging it with the horizontal impulses of the pacific, a visceral and intense space twists and emerges. Composed of luminous lines of color (Electroluminescent wire – EL wire), the ambitious scale of the project is a relatively simple construction with only six fixed paper struts as primary support.

Ante la casi inabarcable lista de proyectos que en los últimos años exponen el uso de las superficies como lienzos útiles para el desarrollo de efímeras composiciones visuales, el concepto de video mapping representa en la arquitectura media una de las técnicas de videoproyección más recurrentes para la formación de un contenido digital que además de lograr asombrosos espectáculos de luz inmersos en un carácter cinético, su discurso cuestiona conceptos relacionados al potencial simbólico, de significado y permanencia que hasta hace poco la superficie arquitectónica había logrado conservar.
No cabe duda que el uso de estas expresiones que aparentan transformar la composición formal de un revestimiento, experimentan la adopción de un espectáculo visual que se expresa indiferente a la tradición tectónica de la envolvente, al promover en esta, el distanciamiento a la “permanencia” resultado del uso de condiciones revolucionarias expuestas por la composición de un diálogo dinámico semejante a un tatuaje efímero que se dibuja y desvanece al borde de una piel.

“Opera performance”
Idomeneo, Rè di Creta is an Italian language opera by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
In cooperation with Theater Bremen and Urbanscreen the stage design and visual composition for this production was conceived.
The opera premiered at Theater Bremen on March 27th, 2011.
